Ok, so I finally decided to have El Fogoncito available in English too! It’s exciting for me as it will allow many of my English speaking friends to follow my récipes and understand better what it is that I’m doing!
For those of you new to the site, El Fogoncito is about traditional Dominican Food, cooked the traditional way. Since Dominican food is so similar to that of Puerto Rico and Cuba (Because it shares its roots) I also post a lot of Puertorican and Cuban recipes. In that sense, the site is much about Caribbean foods and flavors.
Caribbean flavors travel beyond the islands and we find many interesting Caribbean dishes in Venezuela, Colombia, Central America, amongst others.
Finally, I have friends everywhere, so I can and will surprise you now and then with a recipe from another country.
I love to cook, so many of my recipes are the result of me “inventing” in the kitchen, my “culinary lab” as I like to call it.
In essence, what I’m trying to say is: the theme is Dominican and Caribbean food, but there’s no knowing what might come up, as not even I know. Still, I hope you enjoy my “adventures” as much as I do.
