Hello dear friends and fellow foodies!!
One of the things my “Sous Chef” and I set out to do since we started planning our trip to NYC was to try as many different foods as possible. While we weren’t able to do everything we wanted to, we certainly ate non stop for days!
One of the pleasant surprises was definitely the Shish kebabs.
Shish Kebabs come in very different ways and types of meat. The ones you see in the first set of pictures were from a food truck in front of the American Museum of Natural History (Something about dinosaurs makes me hungry! LOL!) We also got some very nice Lamb Gyros from that same food truck! The Shish Kebabs were from beef and very good, even though we found them a bit dry (Maybe our own fault, we could have probably asked for some kind of sauce)
The ones in the second set of pics were much better, they were chicken ones and had an excellent sauce. We got this ones at Times Square, just next to “Toys ‘r’ Us”, from a cart vendor. (I actually bought many times from the same guy, who had some outstanding Italian sausage hot dogs!)
Enjoy the pics, Happy Sunday, Merry Christmas (Yes, we celebrate a very long Christmas in DR) and get ready, as tomorrow I’ll bring you a real jewel of Traditional Dominican cuisine!
Don’t forget to subscribe and continue enjoying with el fogoncito!
Arturo
