Hello friends and fellow foodies!!
First of all, let me rejoice with you in the fact that the Big Chef has given my beloved “Sous Chef” another year of life. May He grant her many many more years!
The “Sous chef” is too busy preparing her own cake (Sorry, flour is not my thing!) So I’m sharing her recipe today!
This is an amazingly delicious recipe. Tasted even better than commercial versions!
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 5 teaspoons yeast
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons oil
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ cup mashed potatoes
- Abundant frying oil (about a liter)
Directions
Mix the yeast with the milk and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt, sugar and mashed potatoes. Add the milk and yeast, mix well and add the 2 tablespoons of oil. If it’s too moist add more flour.
In a flat surface knead until you get a half an inch gross. To form donuts you can use a cutter or a water bottle cap.
Heat the oil (375 F) fry the donuts and put the glazing of your choice.
Enjoy!
Arturo
