Hi!
Since the “chef” is taking vacations I guess that means the “Sous Chef’s” still in charge!
Last week I shared some of my favorite doughnuts recipes and many asked why they were shiny and how did I get the vanilla and chocolate coatings!
These are my favorite glazes. You may prepare some of each for variety and don’t forget kids love to decorate them!
Lemon Glaze
1-2 tablespoons of lemon or lime juice (you may adjust to your preferred thickness)
1 cup powdered sugar
Directions
Mix and dunk your doughnuts to your taste!
Vanilla Glaze
In a bowl, heat about ½ cup of milk with a teaspoon of butter. Set apart.
In a different bowl mix 1 cup of powdered sugar, 2 Tablespoons of the milk mix, ¼ teaspoon of lemon or lime juice and ¼ teaspoon of white vanilla extract.
If you want a thinner glaze, just add a bit more milk mix.
Chocolate Glaze
Use the same milk mix as before.
In a bowl mix:
1 cup of powdered sugar, 2 Tablespoons of Hershey Cocoa, 3 Tablespoons of the milk mix.
Softly dunk your warm donut face down in the chocolate glaze, wiggle and out! Perfect!
Enjoy!
