Hello again friends and fellow foodies!
I guess that’s what happens when one falls behind! LOL!
This is a very Dominican recipe but not only do I bring this great recipe but we have a sweet surprise!
This recipe is one of “Mama Anadina’s” best and we love it so much she sometimes prepares the dough and just sends it to us to prepare later.
Arepitas are a great side dish that goes well with almost everything!
- 2 cups corn flour
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tbsp. salt
- ½ tsp. anise
- 1 leek bush
- 3 eggs
Mix it all well to a creamy paste.
Add enough oil so that the arepitas might be completely covered. Heat it and add spoonfuls of the dough. Let them fry until well cooked.
Serve on napkins to allow them to absorb the excess oil.
But this recipe, while easy and delicious is not the sweet surprise we had for you. Something we have found out is that you love desserts.
That’s why we decided some time ago to start compiling some of the best traditional recipes. The “sous chef” and I worked on it and today we present it to you all.
This is the first time we publish a book simultaneosly in English and Spanish. Hope you enjoy! As a gift to you, our friends and followers, this Friday and Saturday they’ll be available for FREE download from Amazon. Don’t miss out!
You’ll be able to get them as usual in paperback edition from Amazon. Also from Createspace with the customary 10% de discount with code X42JXSN5.
A big hug from the warm (today very rainy actually) Caribbean!
